Statement win from the Patriots

The loss of Randy Moss could hardly be felt after the game where the Patriots held on to beat one of the top teams in the league 23-20. Tom Brady and Deion Branch hooked up for key completions, including a touchdown as the newly acquired Branch made his presence felt immediately. A key to winning this game was containing Ray Rice, the Ravens' explosive running back, and the Patriots were successful limiting Rice to short yardage for the majority of the game. The front seven of the defense especially Vince Wilfork was dominant and the defense got the needed stops in overtime to give the offense an opportunity to win. This win was great for morale and no doubt improved the confidence of the young Patriot defense.
